Math World feature for this chapter.
This site shows a few different commercial products that are shape-based puzzles along with the basic tangram shapes with name labels on the pieces. Other names for this classic puzzle are also provided on the Web page from the Museum and Archive of Games in Waterloo, Canada.
Tans -- Science Museum of Minnesota
The Thinking Fountain Web site from the Science Museum of Minnesota investigates tangrams by providing several puzzles with solutions. Also included is a gallery of tangrams contributed by children.
Chinese Tangram Puzzles
This series of puzzles using tangrams is made available through The Math Forum Web site at Swarthmore College. To find answers to these puzzles without solving them just by using tangrams, you can download a Macintosh shareware application. Shareware requires a fee.
