Dr. Mandel Morrow is professor of literacy and education at Rutgers University. A certified early childhood teacher, elementary teacher, reading specialist, supervisor, and principal, Dr. Mandel Morrow is past president of the International Reading Association and a member of the Editorial Review Board for the Center for Instruction in Early Reading Achievement & Assessment.

Dr. Pikulski is professor of education at the University of Delaware, where he also has been director of the Reading Center. He has been active in the International Reading Association as a member of the board of directors, as committee chairperson, and as past president. He is a senior author of Houghton Mifflin Reading and an author of Reading Intervention for EARLY SUCCESS.™

Dr. Chen is associate professor at the Erikson Institute in Chicago. A highly respected researcher, she completed her project “Linking Child Assessment to Teacher Development” in 2003.

Dr. Espinosa is associate professor of education at the University of Missouri and former director of primary education for the Redwood City School District. She also is a re-accreditation commissioner for the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
Susan Gunnewig, Curriculum
Ms. Gunnewig is associate director of the University of Texas Health Science Center Developmental Pediatrics division. Previously, she was assistant reading manager in the Houston Independent School District.

Catherine Valentino, Science
Ms. Valentino, author-in-residence at Houghton Mifflin Company, has taught and developed programs at the preschool and elementary levels since 1967. She has traveled internationally lecturing, training teachers, and leading workshops in early childhood education.
Dr. Charles White, Social Studies
Dr. White is associate professor of education at Boston University and curriculum consultant for Boston's PBS affiliate. He has taught at the high-school and collegiate levels, and has trained educators internationally.
