Gilbert García is an educational representative for Houghton Mifflin Company, where he has helped pioneer the publication of elementary Spanish language literacy resources. Dr. Garcia has taught Spanish at both the high school and elementary levels. He is currently president of the Inter-Cities Literacy Association, an International Reading Association council in Los Angeles.
