Marian Wright Edelman 1939-
Founder of the Children's Defense Fund
Marian Wright Edelman loves children. She started a group called the Children's Defense Fund in Washington, D.C. This group does many things for children. It helps them find fun and safe things to do after school.
The group also helps children learn to read. Edelman travels and makes speeches about children and learning. She has said, “You really can change the world if you care enough.”
