An American Dream

Over forty years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream. He dreamed that all Americans would be treated the same. Dr. King led a march to Washington, D.C., to tell people about his dream. He gave a speech. He said that people in the United States must all have equal rights. Equal rights means that everyone should be treated the same.

A Way to Remember

A memorial is planned for Dr. King in Washington, D.C. A memorial is a special statue or place that helps us remember. Many people are helping to plan and build the memorial. The memorial will remind people of Dr. King. It will help them remember the things he believed in: peace, justice, hope, and love.
