Quilting Contests
Many people enjoy quilting as a hobby. Some people like to get together for a quilt contest. They try to make the very best quilt and win a prize.
Judges look at each of the quilts. They look for the best sewing, the best colors, and the best design. Then they pick a winner.

- A fun activity you do often: Dancing is my favorite hobby.
- contest:
- A match you try to win, often for a prize: Kim won the second grade drawing contest.
- judge:
- A person who decides the winner of a contest: The judges decided that Pete's art was the best.
- design:
- The way shapes and colors are put together: Sam likes the design on your backpack.
