One Way to Solve
Tammy sold 32 cookies.
Nick sold 5 more than Tammy.
32 + 5 = 37
Cara sold 10 fewer than Tammy.
32 – 10 = 22

Add the number of cookies each person sold to find out how many they sold altogether.
 32 the number of cookies Tammy sold 37 the number of cookies Nick sold + 22 the number of cookies Cara sold 91 the total number of cookies sold

Subtract.
 96 the number of cookies they had to sell – 91 the number of cookies they sold 5 the number of cookies they had left

If you use the hundred chart, assign each person a different color.
Tammy — red
Nick — green
Cara — yellow
