Meet the Author

Eric Velasquez was born in 1961 and grew up in the New York City neighborhood of Harlem. As a child he was always doodling and drawing, and he loved taking art classes. With this background, he says, becoming an illustrator "was a natural choice for me. I have never thought of being anything else."
