Meet the Authors

Carmen Tafolla lives in San Antonio, Texas, where she grew up. She writes poetry, stories, non-fiction, and plays. In one of her plays, Tafolla herself plays many parts: a first-grader, an old lady, a soldier, a janitor, and others.

Jan Epton Seale lives in the southern tip of Texas, just across the Rio Grande river from Mexico. “I see parrots every morning,” she says. “Green chameleons live in my yard. There are animals here, like a tiny toad, that are not found anywhere else in the United States.”
