Show how important your goal is. Follow these tips for writing strong reasons.

Give specific reasons.
Goal: to get more people to use public transportation
Vague reason: This will help our city.
Specific reason: This will prevent traffic jams downtown.
Give related reasons. Don't stray off the topic.
Goal: to get more people to use public transportation
Unrelated reason: I like to travel downtown.
Related reason: Using fewer cars will cut down on air pollution.
Don't give exaggerated reasons. Your audience might think you're bluffing.
Goal: to get more people to use public transportation
Strong reason: You can relax on the train or bus.
Exaggerated reason: You'll avoid ten car accidents a day by riding the train.
Give reasons suited to your audience.
Goal: to have less homework assigned to students
Reason aimed at teachers: If we're not overloaded with assignments, we'll do each task more thoroughly.
Reason aimed at students: We'll have fewer back-breaking books to carry home each day and more time for fun.
