Demographics of sample population:
Dwight Rich Middle School is located in a mid-sized city. The total school population is approximately 1,009 and is comprised of approximately 53% African American students, 31% Caucasian students, 9% Hispanic students, 6% Asian students and 1% American Indian/Alaskan students.

Purpose of study:
Measure progress over time of Soar to Success school students.

Methodology:
The pull-out instructional model was used

Measures/indicators used to assess effectiveness:
Gates MacGinitie Reading Test

Findings: Out of the 11 students tested, 2 showed no gains, 2 showed less than a year's gains, 3 students gained 1 year's growth, and 3 students demonstrated 2-year's of growth. See Chart.
