Demographics of sample population:
Belfair, WA is a rural district. Hawkins Middle School is in a fairly low economic community. The school enrolls 6th, 7th and 8th grades and has a population of approximately 4,000. Approximately 90% of the student population is Caucasian.

Purpose of study:
Measure progress over time of SOAR TO SUCCESS middle school students.

Methodology:
Hawkins Middle School uses a pull-out model, students are assigned to a "Soar class" for an entire period for one semester.
