This story was very interesting because I have never heard about puffings, and I am sure a lot of people haven't. It is interesting to learn how they sleep and what they eat. I would like to be either Halla or her friends so I could be around the pufflings.  My friends would like this book.

I think the author did a good job of telling the story. I liked learning about the pufflings and how they lay eggs underground. Also, the photographs were really great because they were realistic. They really described the story. What I learned from this story is that people should really take care of pufflings. This author has to add more details because I wanted to know what the kids did with the pufflings besides take them out of boxes. The story is a good story because it tells about animals. A lot of people love animals. I think that animals are great, and I love learning about new animals. This story should be in stores.  My friends would like this book.

I loved this book because the author took good pictures. I’m glad that this book was nonfiction. The pictures I really like are the pictures of the pufflings. I think that the pictures of the pufflings were the best. I wish that there were pictures of the whole village. The author did a great job of writing this book. This book also tells good information about pufflings. I’m also glad that the author gave the pronunciation of the difficult words. Of all the books I have read, this is the best. It’s also good that they described the things pufflings ate.  My friends would like this book.

The author did a great job on the story. He gives reason of what Halla does first. Second, he tells what a Puffling does in a day. To tell you the truth, what I learned from his story is that baby pufflings take their first flight at the age of its first week. This is one of the best stories I have ever read in my life. I will probably read another story from this author again. The photos showed lots of excellence. There was one photograph I liked. It was a photo of the town. The last photo was nice. It shows all the kids that helped. That is what I think about the story.  My friends would like this book.

To begin, I think the author did a very good job on this story because he talked about pufflings and taught the language of them too! This is a native tongue spoken on Heimaey Island, Iceland. I also enjoyed learning about the Pufflin adults and their habits when coming ashore to lay their eggs. Once the eggs hatch into chicks, they stay hidden in burrows on the cliffs. When winter approaches, it's time for the chicks to take their first chance at flying. The children are ready with boxes (in hand) for the ones that don't make it. This the first sign to all the village children that the nights of the pufflings are here!!  My friends would like this book.

We really enjoyed this story because we got the chance to learn more about beautiful birds, the pufflings. We learned that pufflings go to Iceland to lay their eggs in burrows. We also learned about an important tradition called Nights of the Pufflings, where the children went around their town and collected the baby puffins and kept them safe from cars, trucks, and animals. Halla and her friends launched them into the sky to fly away and enjoy the second flight of their lives. Good story, great details, and beautiful pictures.  My friends would like this book.

Our favorite part was when the kids rescued the pufflings, because that was the right thing to do. The part that we did not like was when they had the fish in their mouths, because it is disgusting. We learned that that the pufflings have to wait to they take their first flight because there wigs aren't strong enough. The pufflings have to come back to their burrows every year because they need to lay their eggs. The puffin parents feed their pufflings ten times a day because they starve.  My friends would like this book.
