Myth Makers
Performing Arts/Reading/Language Arts
Students will develop and perform a skit or play that "explains" a natural phenomenon in mythical terms. What You Need
- Access to Web sites or reference books that describe ancient myths about nature, to provide examples of the genre.
What to Do
- Organize students into small groups. Ask each group to brainstorm a myth to explain a natural event, such as rainbows or thunder or tidal waves.
- Have students develop their idea into a skit or short play featuring an aspect of nature as a character.
- Ask students to present their productions to the class.
